Windows 7 has now included a full screen magnifier available in all editions with the exceptions of Windows 7 Starter. Windows 7 Starter only allows the normal bar magnifier as seen in previous editions of Windows 2000, ME, XP, and Vista.

Unlike Zoom in the Apple Versions of screen magnification software, the Windows 7 magnifiers gives the user several options for changing magnification levels, changing the text display, panning, 4 different views (full screen, lens, docked, and preview full screen), and color inversion.

What Windows 7 does not give you is a tutorial of how to access the magnifier, the keyboard shortcuts, a explanation of what options are available or what the function of the option is. It appears to me that Windows 7 was designed assuming that the user is computer savvy enough to locate the information needed such as keyboard short cuts and the location of the of the magnifier itself.

Apple Systems has a search bar called the Spotlight. In this text window you type the name of the item, file, or program you are look for. Window 7 now has this feature located by pressing the windows key or clicking the start button. Type in magnifier and the window will direct you to the magnifier in programs. You can also access the magnifier by going to the Ease of Use Menu.

A more in depth description of the functions are list below with screen shots.
